6Hours of Gibraltar set to go for this weekend!

The 5th annual 6 Hours of Gibraltar mountain bike relay is set to go on Saturday, July 15th, 2017.  Join us at this exclusive, professionally built course tucked away on a private wooded property in Gibraltar!  The varying terrain and difficulty levels allow for a challenging, yet fun and family friendly atmosphere.  It is professionally timed, has proper Medical staff on site and ends with a medal presentation for top teams and top fundraisers.
100% of the profit goes directly to support women and children who are fleeing violence.  This year, our fundraising goal of $100,000 will support My Friend's House programs.
You can participate in the relay race as a solo athlete, a team of four, or a corporate team of eight. Your team can be male, female or coed.  This event is suitable for all skill levels and is open to children and adults.  Last year, racers from 8 yrs to 72 yrs old navigated the 6km, moderate skill level private mountain bike course. For pricing information, please check out the Race Info/Links tab.
Included in your registration fee is:  T-shirt, Grab Bag, Prizes and Medals.  Morning coffee is provided by Ashanti Coffee Collingwood.  Lunch is provided by Pita Pit.
"6 Hours of Gibraltar is a significant event for My Friend's House.  It helps us to continue to provide lifesaving services as well as helps to raise awareness about violence against women and the type of programming that we offer in our Community.  Yearly, we must raise a substantial amount to keep our doors open.  We can’t thank the organizers and participants enough for helping us out in such a big way." - Alison Fitzgerald, Executive Director of My Friend's House.
About My Friend's House
My Friend's House is more than just a shelter for women and children fleeing violence.  For 25 years, they have been a safe haven where families recoup, recover and restart their lives free from abuse in the Georgian Triangle.
Each year, they must raise $300, 000 to make ends meet while serving the most vulnerable in our community.  My Friend's House counsellors respond to 1,500 crisis calls each year as well as housing 200 women and children annually.  They also provide lifesaving Outreach and Transition services to 400 women that help families to return to our community where they can plan for the future.
