The Pottery Restauant is Open Again

The Pottery Restaurant in the Blue Mountain Inn is open for dinner again and we decided to head on over to one of our preferred dining destinations to check out and enjoy their new seasonally inspired menu.

We were seated at our favourite table right by the four-sided fireplace which offered up the perfect cozy and romantic setting to enjoy our date night.

Dawn our server has been at The Pottery for 10 years, which is remarkable in itself and she’s the ‘baby’! Carolyn has been there for over 32 years which we think is pretty incredible.

We started our meal with a delicious mini loaf of warm rosemary focaccia, served with lemon infused herb butter.

Chef Oleg Bozovich, heads up the kitchen team at The Pottery and he was able to pop out and chat with us for a little while. We asked him what he’s been up to while the restaurant has been closed and he explained that he’s moved around the resort as different food and beverage options have opened and closed with the seasons including the Kandahar Restaurant Inn CafĂ© during the winter and the Summit View Pavilion at the top of Blue during the summer months.

Chef Oleg celebrated his 5th anniversary working for Blue Mountain Resort in September and in August, he and his wife Christine welcomed their first child, baby boy Luka to the world! Congratulations!

For our appetizer we split a sizable Pottery signature Caesar salad with chopped romaine hearts, double-smoked bacon lardons, parmesan padano, garlic & black pepper croutons and house-made creamy garlic dressing. The salad had the perfect balance of dressing, a tangy zip from the parmesan and the house made croutons added a nice crunch.

For our mains we selected:

Stuffed Chicken Pappardelle, free-range Ontario chicken supreme, leek, baby spinach, feta, parmesan Padano, pappardelle, grape tomato & mushroom marsala cream.

Bone-In Pork Chop, a 10oz house-smoked pork chop with a butternut squash and apple puree, fresh potato salad and corn succotash.

We spit a delectable Chocolate Lava Cake for the finish to a wonderful meal.

The Pottery offers an elevated casual dining experience with exceptional customer service.

Open for breakfast daily from 7AM – Noon, and for dinner from Thursday – Sunday 5PM – 9PM.

THE POTTERY STORY

The Pottery Restaurant is named after the original Blue Mountain Pottery found on display in the dining room. They are original examples of the famous product produced by Jozo Weider, the founder of Blue Mountain Resort.

From its earliest beginnings in the Blue Mountain Ski Barn during the early 1950’s, Blue Mountain Pottery expanded into an enterprise supplementing Jozo’s ski operation by being a year-round revenue generator. In the beginning, visitors to the showrooms were frequently entertained by Jozo or other craftsmen demonstrating their art using a potter’s wheel.
