Love a Valentine's Cabaret

There are a dozen reasons to RUN to buy your tickets to Theatre Collingwood's February 13th Cabaret, appropriately titled "LOVE".  That is, the show will have 12 of Canada's most sought after musical theatre performers on the stage for one night only.  Executive Director, Erica Angus, and Musical Director, Chris Tsuchiuchi, are delighted with the cast of performers who have stepped up to support this annual (fund raiser) cabaret.
"Each year we reach out to our friends in the theatre community and I am always overwhelmed by the response", said Angus.  "Performers take time out of their busy schedules to come to Collingwood to support Theatre Collingwood and put on a fantastic show for us."
This year's cabaret will include performances from such accomplished performers as Alana Hibbert (Stratford Festival), Adrian Marchuk (Jersey Boys), George Masswohl (Stratford, Shaw, Broadway), Sharron Matthews (Mean Girls, Hairspray, Canada Sings), Tracy Michailidis (Stratford, Shaw, Charlottetown Festival, Broadway), Shannon Taylor (Stratford Festival), David Ball (Shaw Festival), and more including Collingwood's very own, Craig Ashton (Canadian Opera Company, Stratford Festival).
Audiences can expect an evening of great songs and incredible voices, concluding with a huge group number involving all 12 singers plus the band. The Historic Gayety Theatre stage will be filled! Tickets are $45 (includes HST), or for $85 you can upgrade to the very popular RED CARPET TICKETS which include premium seating, a partial tax receipt, and a post-show reception with the stars at PIE Restaurant including food and a beverage. Theatre Collingwood is a not-for-profit theatre company with charitable status,  and wishes to thank our Production Sponsor, Harrison Denture Clinic.

Find out why Collingwood is Ranked #1

Ted Mallett, Vice-President and Chief Economist at the Canadian Federation of Independent Businesses (CFIB), will be coming to Collingwood on January 16, 2017 to discuss the Canadian Federation of Independent Business' 2016 Entrepreneurial Communities report released in October, 2016.  Collingwood was the top entrepreneurial community in Canada in this report.
"It's a great tool for communities and business owners to gauge what's working and what's not when it comes to laying the groundwork for entrepreneurial growth," said Mr. Mallett when the report was released. "It's like a snapshot in time that reflects business confidence and government policies that shape the business landscape."
The Town of Collingwood is hosting a lunchtime event on January 16 at which Mr. Mallett will be speaking about the report and answering some key questions about Collingwood: What helped? What hindered? And how do we focus on our greatest opportunities?
"Keep Accelerating Entrepreneurship is the name of this event as it's a way of congratulating businesses on their amazing accomplishment of being ranked #1 for entrepreneurship, and also inspiring discussion on further efforts that are needed to keep accelerating entrepreneurship in the region," commented Martin Rydlo, Director of Marketing & Business Development for the Town of Collingwood.
Visit our website for more information and tickets.  Seating is limited for this event. Buying tickets in advance is recommended. The event will take place at the Temple Building, 126 Hurontario Street. The cost is $20 and includes a light lunch.
