The best way to get red wine out of the carpet

There is one tried and true method for getting red wine stains out of the carpet!  You have to act fast...but don't panic.  Immediately walk calmly to the paper towel dispenser...do not stop to chat on the way...if you are calm, maybe no one will notice.  This is especially important if you're in someone else's house.  Grab a bunch of paper towel...walk calmly back to the scene of the crime.  Place the paper towel over the spill and step on it with the heel of your foot repeatedly with all of your body weight.  As the pieces of paper towel become saturated with the spill soaking up from the carpet, replace with fresh pieces of paper towel for maximum absorption and keep stepping with your heel (shoes off) until all of the wine has been soaked back into the paper towel.  It may take a minute or two...but keep stepping and replacing the paper towel as necessary.  I just did this on the spill in my husband's office.  Result no stain and because I was talking to him calmly all the while...he didn't notice.  phew!
